Back, safe, home again

After meeting all the gathered family at a favorite breakfast place and a stroll through a quiet (because it was stii early) downtown with frosty air and dancing snow flurries, we set out for home in time to be here before dark. But the best laid plans...you know how that goes.

By the time we gassed up the car it was snow showers instead of flurries and the farther we went the harder it snowed pretty much the whole way across the state. When we made a pit stop we hit a spot of blue skies and hoped we were through the worst of the snow but I had no sooner gotten out my sunglasses because the sun was glaring on the wet roads than we caught up with the snow squalls. The roads weren't awful buy it snowed hard enough that visibility was poor and traffic slowed way down. Mind you, I'd rather it slow down than for idiots to sped by but it did make for a loooong drive home.

I have to add that it would have been beautiful if I hadn't been driving in it.

Now it is on to the Advent rush...let the new (church) year begin!
