I know some of you have switched from Blogger to Typepad--care to share your experiences with me? I've thought of making the switch but I'd be curious to know if people who've made the change are happy with doing so, and why. TIA.
I switched several years ago because I liked the features Typepad had that you could not get on Blogger, but I wish I never had. Now I've got years worth of comments I don't want to lose and a number of friends who can't even get my blog to load, or cannot make a comment. That is not worth the money. Yet I feel trapped!
I switched long, long ago because I thought Typepad was a little prettier! Also, I didn't want to be tempted to make changes to my Template, so I got the plan that didn't allow me full access to the html. (Weird, I know. But I didn't want to spend lots of time on my website.)
I'm now thinking of switching to WordPress or Movable Type on my own domain because I'd like to stop paying a monthly cost just for a blog! However, I haven't managed to find the time to arrange this, so I keep blogging at Typepad.
I think they are really great and probably are worth the money if you don't have the time to monitor things like spam yourself and/or don't want or can't design a nice blog template! If they ever have a problem that is not your fault, they try to make it up to you (credit you with a free month or something). And they are super responsive to any problems or confusions you might have. I definitely recommend them.

Not that you asked about Wordpress, but I find the interface so much easier. (Or I did when I switched, which was over a year ago.)
I lost my comments, though, but that was my own fault--or possibly haloscan?
