we have open space behind our house, and just a wire fence across the back. a deer has been visiting lately, just outside the fence -- there are quite a few deer in the hills, but this one seems to like playing with the dogs! [on opposite sides of the fence, although the deer could easily jump it.]
it's quite amazing. the deer kind of prances just on the other side of the fence, and the dogs go nuts barking. they may get as close as a foot from one another, and all seem to enjoy themselves. this may be the same deer who used to race our junior dog back and forth along the fenceline, a season or 2 ago. [our local deer are pretty suburbanized, but most of them are not quite so bold.]
~Seen briefly in my yard this afternoon.
