Random bits of Friday

~I really need to get my sermon done--or at least mostly done--tonight. I've been working at it all day, but I'm not making any progress. Ack.

~We stopped in Borders for a few minutes tonight, and without thinking about it I wandered into the kids' section and started looking at some of my kids' old favorites. And then I thought--I can start buying kids books again!* I love buying kids' books.
*for my granddaughter-to-be

~But I am not so ready to think about Christmas. And they had (shudder) pink and black Christmas trees in Borders (shudder).

~I have "Tiki-tiki-tembo-no-sa-rembo" stuck in my head. I can never remember the rest of the name, but I must've read that book to the Kid 1000 times at least.

~From now til the first of the year is going to be wicked busy at work. Wicked busy. Somehow I've ended up editing the newsletter and proofreading all the bulletins. And maintaining the web page. And writing pamphlets. None of which are really in my job description. I like doing all those things but they are collectively a major time suck. And then there are the extra Advent and Christmas activities.

~It's starting to be cold. It's time I guess. We've just had such a weird fall that I don't feel ready for cold yet.

~Back to sermon writing now.

For a granddaughter book may I suggest "Fancy Nancy"? A friend gave it to my Ella for her birthday last year and we love it! So many kid great kid books - I'm going to miss it when my kids are too old for them.

Arrrgghh! Now you have set off the horribly mutilated and mondegreened version from my child records!
