Saturday

~I got up early this morning to work on my sermon. Normally I plan on having from around 9 to 2 to write it, but I had to be at church at 11 this morning, so I started writing yesterday. I had a sort of rough draft to work with this morning, but I wasn't liking it much, so I rewrote most of it pretty quickly. It was better but still not quite done.

~I had to be at church at 11 to prepare for a funeral. It was a sad funeral--they are all sad on some level, but when a person has lived a long life and died well, it's sad in a different way. Today's funeral was for a man who died too young and in sad circumstances. Makes you think a lot about life. It was a good funeral though--beautiful music--his parents are both musicians and their friends sang--and a feeling of mourning and saying good-bye in a meaningful way.

~After the funeral I went back to finish my sermon, and suddenly it all just came together. Weird how that works sometimes.

~It was a dark and cold and windy day. Feels like winter is coming for sure. Remarkably there are still leaves on some of the trees. It seems like they should all be gone by now--especially after last week's storm.

~NaBloPoMo is sort of dragging along this year...I don't seem to have much to say or when I think of something I don't have time to write it. Maybe we need a few memes or something. Anyway, I'll try to think of something substantive tomorrow. I have two questions to answer--anybody want to ask some more?
